It’s spring, and time to make room in the shop. These are all Type 1, 1200cc, 40hp, air-cooled VW engines. They all turn over freely, and are of unknown internal condition.
Engine Number 5860968
Short block plus fuel pump, distributor, oil cooler, flywheel and clutch. This motor was produced sometime between December 1960 and August 1961.
Engine Number 7164524
Complete, from heater boxes to air cleaner, with all tin in place. Minus carb. This motor was produced sometime between December 1961 and December 1962.
Engine number 9196189
Complete, from heater boxes to carb, with all tin in place. No air cleaner. Passenger-side heater box is missing its control flap, and the spot where it belongs has been cut away. Comes with aftermarket, spin-on oil filter pump cover. This motor was produced sometime between August 1964 and December 1964.
